This poor peri-urban community located in a mountainous area near a big city has so far preserved its coherent socio-economic and architectural structure. It is situated on a hill and has a lake to the East. This pretty village is starting to get cash-income from local tourism. It is suffering from the insufficient water reserves and soil erosion and shortage of rural energy. The main household cash income is the migrating towards town, done mostly by male villagers, meanwhile women are taking more and more responsibility for both working at home and in the field. The overwork burden for the women in the community will be one of the questions that SUCCESS will tackle.

下伏头村位于河南省博爱县太行山区,整个村落位于山环水抱之间。村东是连绵的群山,村西是丹河。虽然下伏头村位于内陆欠发达地区,然而其自然及人文景观保存较为完整,整个村落形态很有特色:一半位于平地,一半位于山上。许多老房子依山势绵延而上,使整个村落脉落分明而富有变化。 该村村民中的家庭收入的主要来源为青壮年男子外出(进城)打工所得,因而妇女承担了越来越多的责任;一方面,她们需要承担所有的家务劳动,另一方面,她们还需要下地干农活。如何解决村中妇女负担过重的问题是“Success”项目关注的重点。
