In the province of Yunnan, there are 25 different nationalities besides the Han Chinese population. The village San Yuan that we have selected for the Success project is a Naxi-settlement (纳 西 族 ) with a feeling of "common glory" - during the Qing dynasty ( 清 朝 ), they had their own Mu king, and in the last decades, the villagers were frequently quoted as "advanced production team".

Since 1999, our partner is building up an educational centre to help to rediscover the common moral identity and the own Naxi character. People from the village meet every week to re-discover their own culture and the Dongba-Religion; they produce their own books and write in a special pictogram script. They also proceed to a revival of old ceremonies and dances - an activity that gives new life to the whole settlement.

云南省境内共有25个不同的民族聚居,而云南省丽江贵峰三元村便有属于东巴文化的发源地。“Success”项目组将关注于经济,生态,文化以及公共空间等问题的研究。在以前,村落中有许多公共活动空间,每一个生产小组都有自己的集会地点。我们将重构这种传统,创造多重意义的空间场所。以三元村为基础,“Success”项目的研究成果将普及到周边的多个村落。通过交通往来以及家庭联系等,这些新思路,新方法将传播到丽江市。
