Chi Qiao is a settlement in the outskirts of the Mega City Taiyuan ( 太原 ). The urban structure is well preserved, there is a tradition of local craftsmanship (paper production). The local dwellers are conscious of the history of their place and have first sketches for building a local museum as well as rudimentary concepts for upgrading the agriculture. SUCCESS will show whether it is possible to build a bridge between existing traditional cultural water-festivals at the nearby, renowned temple and the water-discussion in ecology in the third millennium A future option is also a lineage between the inner-Chinese tourism leading to the famous temple in the neighbourhood and Chi Qiao itself. Partner 3 has already worked out a study on base and marginalised societal groups in this province. We will also study the history of water-supply in the region.

赤桥村位于山西省太原市郊,毗邻著名的道教名祠:晋祠。村落形态保持完好,同时村中有相当悠久的地方造纸技术。村民们有意识地保存和保护其地方文化,并设计出地方博物馆的草图。 “Success”项目将着眼于探讨是否可能在村落规划中,以附近的传统水文化节日以及晋祠为原点,建立一座“文化之桥”,从而将赤桥村的发展定位与晋祠的旅游文化结合起来。
